The many ways of impressing the subconscious mind and getting the right answers make this an extraordinarily valuable book and an ever present help in time of trouble.

In 1896, in Letter 52, Freud introduced the stratification of mental processes, noting that memory-traces are occasionally re-arranged in accordance with new circumstances. In this theory, he differentiated between Wahrnehmungszeichen ("Indication of perception"), Unbewusstsein ("the unconscious") and Vorbewusstsein ("the Preconscious").[6] From this point forward, Freud no longer used the term "subconscious" because, in his opinion, it failed to differentiate whether content and the processing occurred in the unconscious or preconscious mind.[8]

The idea of the subconscious as a powerful or potent agency has allowed the term to become prominent in New Age and self-help literature, in which investigating or controlling its supposed knowledge or power is seen as advantageous. In the New Age community, techniques such as autosuggestion and affirmations are believed to harness the power of the subconscious to influence a person's life and real-world outcomes, even curing sickness. Skeptical Inquirer magazine criticized the lack of falsifiability and testability of these claims.[13] Physicist Ali Alousi, for instance, criticized it as unmeasurable and questioned the likelihood that thoughts can affect anything outside the head.[14] In addition, critics have asserted that the evidence provided is usually anecdotal and that, because of the self-selecting nature of the positive reports, as well as the subjective nature of any results, these reports are susceptible to confirmation bias and selection bias.[15]

However, by taking control of your subconscious mind, by becoming aware and in sync with it, you can be sure to take back control of your life and basically achieve anything you want to. This is because when your subconscious mind and your conscious mind is working together to achieve a common goal, you can believe that it will happen. This video shows this process.

Sub conscious is something which we cannot deal with directly. It is the state of mind which controls all our actions. Way to control it with our conscious mind is impossible because our conscious mind itself is a subset of subconscious mind. Here are the techniques I have read to control subconscious mind:

1. Hold your breath thinking strongly of what you want your subconscious mind to be. Holding your breath creates an emergency which is when the subconscious mind comes into action and as you strongly think, it receives signals and it can be moulded.

The power of sub consious mind is so great that it control the way we act and react in different situations in a certain patternSub consious mind is what makes you brush your teeth automatically while you conduct other activitiesTo create a new reaction on different situations you must visualise the way you want to react for at least 8 minutes and subconsious mind will store what you immagined, process it n manifest it in realitySubconsious mind can receive new pattern of life, store it, process it and manifest it

Our subconscious mind is connected to the infinite intelligence. When we ( the conscious mind) succeeds in impressing the subconscious mind with our repeated action , affirmations and etc with our goal or desire, the subconscious mind would eventually express it and materialize it in your physical world as a matter of time. Our thoughts creates reality. It s interesting.

This is very interesting. I am 82 years young. When I do not do the exact thing at the same time each evening, things go awry . Last night I was working on the computer much later than usual but enjoying myself. However, did not do the exercise that I usually do before bed. I had my reishi tea , went to bed without doing the exercise that i usually do to wind down . Got into bed and listened to my relaxations CD to help me go to sleep but could not go to sleep because i had not done the exercise. My subconscious mind is in control of me , instead of me being in control of my subconscious mind.

This is great article. However, I dont agree with your statement where you mention information is stored in the subconscious mind without the conscious mind is incorrect. I say this because conscious mind decided whether to store the information permanently or temporarily. hence the argument that we remember certain information and certain information we dont remember.

Mechanism for major change in the subconscious mind from an ordinary to a spiritual state. Vasana Daha Tantra to clear suppressed memories. Be observant of what's going on inside. Devotion helps us to have the humility to admit our mistakes, to know at our essence we are a divine being. Refining, purifying the subconscious mind. Changing, restraining the nature of the samskaras.

"We have studied the conscious mind and its relation to the other states of mind and have found that it is only one-tenth of the mind. It has not the power to act on its own for any length of time without being carried on by its own novelty through ramification. The subconscious of the conscious mind is the storehouse for the conscious mind. All the happenings of each day and all reactions are stored up there. It is only a reflection of the sub superconscious, for when all the repressions are released, the sub superconscious takes over the subconscious mind. For, though the power of understanding generated by the superconscious through the subconscious, the subconscious is dissolved, and the true, intuitive, all-knowing, superconscious self returns to its rightful position in the picture of the mind. All the confusion of the subconscious clears, and the ego looks as naturally within as without, simultaneously. "

Gurudeva's describing a major change in the subconscious mind here that takes place from just an ordinary state to a spiritual state. And it gets rid of a number of things, including reactions, which tend to turn into suppressions and repressions. It's a very interesting mechanism; we've talked about it before. But when something goes wrong and we don't do exactly what we know we should have, we upset other people, we'll remember that for a few days. The subconscious mind keeps reminding us: This happened, this happened; please fix it, please fix it. And it's encouraging us to resolve things by reminding us that they happened. It's a very interesting phenomenon.

But if we ignore it, what happens? Does it go on forever? No, it'll stop at a certain point. The subconscious will say: Okay I tried. Clearly you don't want to resolve it so I will suppress you. I will stop reminding you that this happened. I will suppress this memory. But, did you resolve it. No! There's a reaction there; there's an emotional component that you're suppressing. So, you're suppressing emotion, you're suppressing reaction. You suppress enough emotion you can imagine it gets pretty congested down there. So therefore, we need to un-congest it.

As you know, I've been studying Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and working on some presentations of comparing them to Gurudeva's teachings. And this was an interesting one I thought of. That's why I chose the Cognizantability Affirmation. So we're transforming the subconscious mind from an ordinary state into a spiritual state. Through resolving, through upgrading our behavior, through spiritual practices it transforms it, makes it pure. And also changes the vibration of it into something more refined.

Well those are called samskaras. The subconscious mind is also called samskara chitta, right? It's where all the samskaras are. And samskaras are what happened plus our emotional reaction to it. It's our impression of what happened plus our emotional reaction to it. It's not exactly the memory cause it has an emotional component, a judgmental component. So, it's what happened plus all our thoughts and feelings associated with what happened that got stored at the same time. So those are the samskaras.

So here he's focusing on the idea of controlling the thinking mind. Whenever we control the mind, we're putting a new type of samskara into the subconscious. We're refining it. Same idea as Gurudeva said. So we're changing the content of the subconscious mind or we're changing the nature of the samskaras. Replacing externalizing samskaras which is just memories before we take up spirituality, we keep thinking about the world. What's still in the subconscious mind makes you think about the world, thinking about doing more reactions. So we have to put something new in there. Spiritual samskaras! So he's focusing on: You can do that through restraining the thinking mind. 2ff7e9595c
